Boy seriously hurt after running into pickup

A 2-year-old boy was seriously injured Tuesday when he ran into the side of a pickup truck on Lappans Road, south of Hagerstown, Maryland State Police said.

The boy, Levi Stouffer, ran out from a driveway in the 17000 block of Lappans Road at about 7:13 p.m., just as a 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup was traveling by, police said. Levi struck the right front side of the truck and was knocked to the ground, police said.

He was taken to Washington County Hospital by ambulance, police said.

The driver of the pickup was not injured, police said. No charges will be filed, police said.
