Norma J. Miller, 74



MARCH 2, 1934-APRIL 20, 2008

SHADY GROVE, Pa. - Norma Jean Bear Miller, 74, of 1996 Buchanan Trail East, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

Born March 2, 1934, in Greencastle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Norman and Mary Pike Bear.

She was a 1952 graduate of Greencastle High School.

She was a nurse's aide at South Mountain (Pa.) Restoration Center for more than 26 years, retiring in 1997.

She helped organize Cub Scout Pack 95 in Shady Grove and was an active leader in Scouting.

She is survived by her husband of more than 54 years, Charles R. Miller; one daughter, Tina M. Richmond of Hillsborough, N.C.; three sons, Garry R. Miller of St. Thomas, Pa., Larry W. Miller of Quincy, Pa., and Denny R. Miller of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Wilbur Bear of Greencastle; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel Pike and Robert Bear.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle. The Rev. David G. Rawley will officiate. Burial will follow in Upton (Pa.) Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Joyce Louise Naylor Marks, 62, of Harbaugh Avenue, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born April 3, 1946, near Smithsburg, she was the daughter of Edna M. Horst Naylor of Smithsburg and the late F. Samuel Naylor.

She was a 1964 graduate of Smithsburg High School.

She had been employed by Grove Manufacturing of Waynesboro.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Michael C. Harbaugh; three sisters, Sandra K. Hillebrand of Oconomowoc, Wis., twin sister, Jean L. Fiore of Waynesboro and Susan F. Naylor of Smithsburg; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa L. Rock.

It was her wish to have no viewing or visitation.

Private graveside services will be at Smithsburg Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Pastor Gerry Johnson will officiate.

Arrangements are by J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.




Kenneth "Kenny" Andrew Lombardi, 23

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Kenneth "Kenny" Andrew Lombardi, 23, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, April 18, 2008.

Born Oct. 24, 1984, in Baltimore, he was the son of Chris A. Lombardi and wife, Cindy, of Hagerstown and Karen M. (Michael) Dunstan and husband, Bill, of Reisterstown, Md.

Kenny was employed as a heavy equipment operator with David H. Martin Excavating Company.

He was a member of the Brass Anchor Scuba Club of Frederick.

In addition to his parents, he also is survived by his wife, Lara N. (Tagg) Lombardi; one son, Ethan Tagg Lombardi, at home; maternal grandparents, Helen Michael, and Jerry and Bonnie Bazensky, all of Baltimore; three brothers, Christopher A. Lombardi II and wife, Billie, Christopher A. Turner and wife, Rosanna, all of Hagerstown, and Branden W. Hewitt of Louisiana; two nieces, Eliza Lombardi and Ella Turner; and brother-in-law, Cory E. Kayhoe of Waynesboro, Pa.

Funeral services will be conducted at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown, on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Trust Fund for Ethan T. Lombardi, c/o Patriot Federal Credit Union, 800 Wayne Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Mary Lourdes Geary, 60

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary Lou Geary, 60, of Martinsburg, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born April 19, 1947, in Syracuse, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Mildred Hersey Geary.

She graduated from Jamesville Dewitt High School in 1965 and entered the Franciscan Order as a Roman Catholic nun. She obtained her RN at St. Elizabeth's in Utica, N.Y. She received her bachelor of science degree from George Mason University and a master's in science in nursing from Catholic University.

She taught nursing at Shepherd University and Mountain State University.

She was active in Relay for Life, serving as chairman for two years, and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by one sister, Lou Anne Allen of Gilbert, Ariz.; two brothers, David F. Geary of Annapolis and Robert Geary of Brewerton, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Celebration will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church. The Rev. Alfred Obiudo will officiate.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
