The Tingles

Woodie and Mary (Gossard) Tingle were doubly feted for their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 14, 2007. They had dinner at Longhorn Restaurant their son, Woodie, and two grandchildren.

The entire party proceeded to the Funkstown Legion where the Tingles were greeted by family and friends.

The Tingles were married in the parsonage of the Brethren church.

Mr. Tingle retired as the manager of McCrory's restaurant in downtown Hagerstown.

Mrs. Tingle retired as the manager of Halfway Liquors.

The Nighs

Dick and June Nigh celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at Red Lobster in Hagerstown. The evening was hosted by their daughter, Barbara Tingle, and son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Buddy" and Holli Nigh. Also in attendance were their grandchildren, nephew and his wife, and Mr. Nigh's brother and his wife.

The Nighs were married on Friday, Oct. 25, 1957, in the parsonage of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Funkstown, by the Rev. George S. Bowden, now deceased. Mrs. Nigh is the former June Darris. Mr. Nigh is retired from Maryland Correctional Training Center.

The Joys

Les Joy II and Donna Joy of Martinsburg, W.Va., were honored at their 25th wedding anniversary party, given by their sons and their wives, Lester Joy III, and Mandy Joy, and Jason and Kim Joy.

Friends and family gathered for the event at Western Sizzlin Steak House in Hagerstown.

They were married on March 19, 1983, at Northside Mennonite Church in Hagerstown.

They have two grandsons.
