Public hearing on Washington County budget rescheduled for May 13

April 18, 2008

A public hearing on Washington County's fiscal 2009 budget has been rescheduled again, this time back to its original date of May 13.

On Tuesday, County Administrator Gregory B. Murray announced that the hearing had been moved to May 20 to allow the County Commissioners time to finish reviewing the budget draft for fiscal 2009, which begins in July.

But that decision was reversed Thursday after the county was able to schedule its final budget presentations in time to keep the original date, Murray said.

The hearing will be held on May 13 at 7 p.m. at Hagerstown Community College's Kepler Theater.

Preliminary drafts of the fiscal 2009 operating budget project $206.9 million in spending.
