Body found along railroad tracks identified as that of Hagerstown man

April 18, 2008

The Hagerstown Police Department on Thursday identified a body found last Friday along railroad tracks in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Prospect Street.

A relative identified the body as that of Michael Newlin, 43, of Hagerstown, a detective said.

The body was taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Baltimore so the cause of death could be determined, Detective George Brandt said.

Police don't suspect foul play, and there were no obvious signs of injuries, he said.
