Discovery Station in Hagerstown to host DNA Depot on April 25

On Friday, April 25, the DNA Depot will be at Discovery Station in downtown Hagerstown to show visitors how to extract DNA from your favorite fruit.

See what DNA really looks like. Build a model of the famous double helix. Learn about agarose gel electrophoresis and how DNA fingerprinting is done. This special event commemorates the completion of the Human Genome Project and the discovery of DNA's double helix. It is appropriate for ages 8 and older.

The workshops will be at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon. Reduced entrance fee for this event only: $3 for students and $5 for adults, which includes all museum exhibits.
