Williamsport schools plan events to raise money for band uniforms

WILLIAMSPORT - All three Williamsport schools will participate in a community event Saturday, April 26, to raise funds for new band uniforms.

Williamsport High School will host a yard sale, along with selling food, drinks, popcorn and baked goods and having a pie-throwing booth targeting the band director.

Williamsport Elementary School is focusing on its Green School initiatives, and will have a Green School/Safety Day at its school, with green and safety-related exhibits and activities.

Springfield Middle School will have a yard sale and sell Krumpe's doughnuts and drinks to help raise funds for new uniforms.


A concession stand will serve both breakfast and lunch. There also will be a car show with prizes and raffles and a Kids' Zone with games and crafts.

Music will be provided during the event, and Best Buy will have a community volunteer booth.

The hours for the event are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with some differing times for individual events.

The car show will end at 2:30 p.m., the Kids' Zone will be open until 2 p.m., and the pie-throwing booth will go from noon to 2 p.m. The yard sale, concession stand, popcorn sales, bake sale and music will be available the entire time.

Rain date is May 3, with all times remaining the same.
