Luncheon set

The Lucy P. Jones Missionary Society and the YPD of Ebenezer invites everyone to attend the third annual Mother's Day Luncheon and Fashion Extravaganza on Saturday, May 10, from noon to 3:30 p.m at Ebenezer in the Vinton R. Anderson Outreach Center.

The buffet will include shrimp cocktail, crab balls, stuffed chicken, beef kabobs, rice pilaf, green bean almondine, lemon sorbet with fresh blueberries, a variety of desserts and Governor's Mansion Peach Tea Punch.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $6 for children 6 to 12. Photos will be taken for $5 each.

This year, vendors tables will be available for $10 each for sales of crafts and/or Mother's Day theme gifts.

Yard sale planned

Join the Sisters in Spirit Book Club on April 26 as they participate at the community yard sale at Hagerstown's Fairgrounds Park.


The yard sale will be from 7 a.m. to 2 pm. They look forward to seeing you at stall No. 29 with lots of items for you to choose from.

Basket bingo

A Longaberger basket bingo will be held Sunday at St. Joseph Church, 17630 Virginia Ave. Doors open at 1 p.m. and bingo starts at 1:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be available for purchase. There will also be tip jars and special bingo games. All baskets will be filled. The bingo will benefit the Catholic Daughters' work for the church and community.

Spring gospel sing

A spring gospel sing featuring the St. John Church Choir of Pimlico, Md., will be held on Sunday in the Fellowship Hall of Trinity Lutheran Church, 15 Randolph Ave. in Hagerstown. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m.
