Interstate Communication Services

WILLIAMSPORT - Paul Espinosa, general manager of Frontier, recently announced that Interstate Communication Services (ICS) has signed on as an agent for Frontier.

Frontier agents help local businesses find solutions for improved communications and efficiencies within the business environment. New agents are carefully screened to ensure they meet Frontier's stringent requirements for knowledge, professionalism and market presence.

The ICS staff has combined for more than 150 years of specialized experience in communications and technology.

Frontier is part of Citizens Communications Company, a full-service communications provider and one of the largest local exchange telephone companies in the country.



The BNI Tuesday morning chapter was awarded a gold referral award by Jackie Lamothe, BNI regional director.

The award was presented for being the top regional chapter with the most referrals and business conducted in 2007.

The award was accepted by chapter President Candice Wagaman on behalf of the group.

Maryland Correctional Training Center

The Maryland Correctional Training Center hosted a wellness fair for its employees Feb. 27.

The fair featured free goodies, free massages for employees and blood pressure checks. Gold's Gym, Curves and South Pointe Fitness had drawings for free trial memberships.

Vendors who participated in the fair included a representative from the College Savings Plan, Washington County Health Department, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Gold's Gym, South Pointe Fitness, Curves and Integrative Medicine.

The Yule Cupboard

Ann Law, owner of The Yule Cupboard, celebrated her shop's 25th anniversary March 14-22 at the store at 646 Potomac Ave. in Hagerstown.

The Yule Cupboard opened in the fall of 1981 as a small, seasonal shop across from her current location. After purchasing the building at its current location, the shop was opened full time in March 1983.

The Yule Cupboard offers floral design, home furnishings and in-home design consultations.

Sunrise Electronic Distributing Co.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Frank and Cheryl Stearn have retired after 34 years as owners of Sunrise Electronic Distributing Co.

Sunrise Electronics and Computers became employee owned on Jan. 1. The principal owners are Lee Eisenhard, Bill Free, Eric Good and Andrew Mummart.

The company will continue to provide the same quality product lines, service authorizations and integration services as it offered in the past.

The company also will continue under the same names - Sunrise Electronics, Sunrise Computers and digitalSunrise.


MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - "Panhandle Live with David Welch," a local morning radio show heard daily on WEPM (1340-AM), was awarded Best Talk Show of the Year by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association.

WEPM also won two other first-place awards - Rob Mario and John Partington for Best Sports Play-by-Play announcer and Marsha Kavalek for Best Spot News Coverage for her coverage of President Bush's visit to Martinsburg in July 2007.

The awards were presented at the annual Broadcasters Awards ceremony in Morgantown, W.Va.
