Unidentified body found Friday near train tracks

April 12, 2008|By ERIN JULIUS

HAGERSTOWN -- A body was found Friday morning along railroad tracks in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Prospect Street, a Hagerstown Police Department detective said Friday.

The body, that of a white male, had not been identified as of Friday afternoon, Detective George Brandt said.

An acquaintance of the dead man found the body, Brandt said.

The body was taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Baltimore so a cause of death could be determined, Brandt said.

Police don't suspect foul play, and the body probably hadn't been in the area near the railroad tracks for more than a day, Brandt said.

He had no additional information, such as an age or a description.
