Hagerstown Community College to host legal studies speaker April 21

April 10, 2008

Hagerstown Community College will host a University of Maryland University College legal studies guest speaker Monday, April 21, at 5 p.m. in Room 120 in the Classroom Building at HCC.

UMUC faculty member Adelaide Lagnese will speak about the legal studies program at UMUC, and will discuss how current or prospective HCC students in the paralegal studies program can transfer to UMUC and complete the remaining courses necessary to obtain a bachelor's degree. By participating in the transfer program, and obtaining an associates degree in paralegal studies from HCC, students can complete more than half of the necessary coursework required for their bachelor's degree in advance to transferring to a four-year institution.

The legal studies lecture is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. To RSVP for this event, call Loretta Thornhill at 301-790-2800, ext. 481.
