Hagerstown's annual spring Dumpster program begins Monday

The City of Hagerstown announces its annual spring Dumpster program for city residents. Proof of residency is required.

The dumpster program will run from Monday, April 14, through Saturday, April 19, at the intersection of South Potomac Street and West Memorial Boulevard, across from Bester Elementary School. Entry can be made from South Potomac Street by making a right hand turn into the alley just past New Deal Truck Parts & Service.

Dumping hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. No dumping after 3 p.m. Saturday will be permitted.

The following items are not permitted: Tires, batteries, paint, chemical waste, or other hazardous waste. Also items that contain freon such as refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers are not permitted. The dumpsters are not to be used by commercial haulers.

Do not place yard waste or recyclable items in the dumpsters since the city has a separate program for those items. For information about the yard waste and/or recyclable items, call 301-739-8577, ext. 106.
