Defendants sentenced, enter guilty pleas in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A number of criminal defendants were sentenced in U.S. District Court between March 31 and April 2, according to U.S. Attorney Sharon L. Potter.

· Jesse Brent Boyd, 27, of Charles Town, W.Va., four months in prison followed by two years of supervised release for theft of mail.

· Miguel Angael Cruz-Polanco, 24, of Martinsburg, W.Va., three years and 10 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for possession of a firearm and distribution of cocaine.

· Michael Clarence Frither, 42, of Warrenton, Va., six months in prison followed by two years of supervised release for passing two counterfeit $50 bills.

· Alme McFarlane, 33, of Martinsburg, W.Va., (an illegal alien from Jamaica), one year in prison followed by two years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court between March 31 and April 3, according to U.S. Attorney Sharon L. Potter.

· Barbara Ann Gross, 54, of Martinsburg, W.Va., pleaded guilty to distribution of crack cocaine and is facing a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or a fine of $1 million. She is free on bond pending sentencing.

· Niesha Renee Witherall, 27, of Martinsburg, W.Va., pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and is facing a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and/or a fine of $2 million. She is free on bond pending sentencing.

· Leonard Lloyd Fullwood, 29, of Martinsburg, W.Va., pleaded guilty to distribution of crack cocaine and is facing a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and/or a fine of $2 million. He is free on bond pending sentencing.
