A Seat Pleasant, Md., man was killed Saturday morning when his car crashed on Md. 65 north of Norman Drive in Washington County, according to Maryland State Police.

Sylvester James Hunter, 77, of 7222 G St., was pronounced dead at Washington County Hospital shortly after the 6:57 a.m. crash, police said.

Hunter was not wearing his seatbelt, police said, and may have had a medical emergency before the accident.

He was driving a 1987 Ford Crown Victoria southbound on Md. 65 when, for unknown reasons, the car crossed the center line, ran across the northbound lane and hit a culvert and a large tree along the roadside, according to police.
