Officials to seek more input on team's use of rec center

Washington Township said it needs more information from residents along Mentzer Gap Road before it makes a decision on a contract with the Stallions football team to use Pine Hill Recreation Center for practice and games.

The board of supervisors agreed Tuesday in a workshop session to do more research on the opinions of homeowners adjacent to the park by conducting a survey.

Many township residents have written to the supervisors, expressing views on both sides of the issue, but supervisors said they lack clear sense of how affected neighbors feel.

Supervisor Christopher Firme asked the board to survey area residents with a mailed survey.

The survey would not be a determining factor in how the township proceeds on the issue, he said.
