Hagerstown bulk trash collection scheduled for April 14-19

April 04, 2008

The City of Hagerstown will hold its annual spring bulk waste collection program from April 14-19 at the intersection of South Potomac Street and West Memorial Boulevard.

The program is open exclusively to city residents so they can drop off bulk trash. The following items will not be accepted:

· tires

· batteries

· paint

· chemical or hazardous waste

· items that contain freon, such as refrigerators and air conditioners

Entry to the site may be made from South Potomac Street by making a right-hand turn into the alley just past New Deal Truck Parts & Service. Dumping hours will be from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The trash receptacles are not to be used by commercial haulers.

The city asks that residents do not place recyclables or yard waste in the bins because programs exist to handle those items.

Residents with questions may call the Hagerstown Public Works Office at 301-739-8577, ext. 178.
