VIENNA, W.Va. - Dirk Webb had three hits, including a solo home run, and two RBIs to help Shepherd beat Ohio Valley in the opener of a doubleheader sweep.

Chris Wilkins had two hits, including a three-run homer, for the Rams (14-13).

In the nightcap, Justin Dailey had three hits and scored three runs and Webb smacked a three-run homer for Shepherd. Drew McCormick had three hits, Brandon Armentrout had two hits, including a two-run homer, and Wilkins had two hits, including a solo home run, and two RBIs.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Jamie Griffin had two hits, including a two-run blast, as Shepherd beat West Virginia State in the opener of a doubleheader split.


Rae Johnson and Amy Edmondson had two hits each for the Rams.

In the nightcap, Margaret Osborne hit a two-run double in the top of the seventh to rally the Jackets (17-10).

Stephanie Sims and Amber Dudek each had two hits for the Rams (10-14).


National Little League to celebrate 60th anniversary

National Little League will celebrate its 60th anniversary during opening day ceremonies on April 12, beginning at 10 a.m.

All former National Little League members are invited to attend. Special recognition will be given to the members of the 1950 and 1968 teams that advanced to the Little League World Series.

Mercersburg wrestling clinic

The Storm Wrestling Club is sponsoring a Freestyle/Greco Roman Wrestling Clinic on Sunday at Mercersburg Academy, beginning at 10 a.m.

The six-hour clinic is open to wrestlers in the Tri-State area. It will be conducted by legendary Western Pennsylvania coach Mel Gray and three-time NCAA All-American Charlie Heard.

The cost is $15 and does not include lunch.
