April 03, 2008

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Smithsburg, Md., man was sentenced Wednesday in Franklin County Court to one to five years in state prison for a 7-Eleven robbery last year in Washington Township, Pa.

Luke E. Geissinger, 21, of 13360 Greensburg Road, was charged in connection with the Oct. 23 holdup of the convenience store at 11374 Buchanan Trail East, Rouzerville, Pa. He pleaded guilty to the criminal conspiracy charge on Feb. 15, according to court records.

Township police said a man wearing a ski mask entered the store at 7:22 p.m. and robbed it of $548 at knifepoint. A witness saw a man get into a maroon sedan that sped away from the store, police said.

Police said they received a tip a few days later that led them to Geissinger and an accomplice.

Judge Richard Walsh ran the criminal conspiracy charge concurrently with a one- to three-year sentence for violating probation on 2007 convictions for disorderly conduct and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
