Team mom meeting

Clear Spring Little League is holding a team mom meeting today.

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room above the concession stand.

Kindergarten registration

The next kindergarten registration is Wednesday, April 16.

Families in the Clear Spring Elementary district are encouranged to register their children soon so that the school can begin sending parents information about the kindergarten fair and kindergarten mini-camp that will be taking place this summer.

Please tell your friends and neighbors about this registration date. Students that turn 5 by Sept. 1, 2008, can register for kindergarten 2008-09.

Please bring the following items with you to register your child for kindergarten:

· Birth certificate

· Social Security card

· Proof of residency (tax bill/statement, lease or mortgage bill/statement, utility bill (water/sewer/gas/electric), or deed, title or settlement sheet.

Historical Society to meet Thursday

The Clear Spring Historical Association will meet Thursday at Plumb Grove at 7:30 p.m. for its monthly meeting.

Topics include updates relating to local preservation issues; getting commitments from members to cook, bake, serve food and wash dishes at the Tavern on the Potowmack at the Fort Frederick Market Fair; make final arrangements for mailing invitations to members to tour historic Rockland; form a committee to handle National Pike Day events; and work on scheduling help for the Independence Jam festivities at Plumb Grove on July 3.

The meeting is open to the public and additional volunteers are always needed not only for the above projects but also for the Plumb Grove heritage gardens and restoration work needed on the property. Call 301-842-2342 for additional information.

Spring revivial

Blair's Valley First Church of God will hold a spring revival April 13 to 16 at 7 p.m. The speakers include Pastors Jeff Hawbaker on Sunday, Henry Lutz on Monday and Tuesday and David Sword on Wednesday. The community is invited.

The church would also like to thank all who helped in the Easter month celebrations at the church - the monologues, dialogues, skits and choir presentations were inspiring.

Pancake breakfast

The Wilson Ruritan Club's country butchering and pancake breakfast will be Saturday, April 12, beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Come out and enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes with one serving of sausage or puddin', orange juice and coffee. Tickets cost $4. Meat goes on sale at 7 a.m.

This will be the last butchering of the season. The next breakfast will be Saturday, May 10.

Drama club plans 'Sound of Music'

Clear Spring High School's Drama Club presents Rodgers and Hammerstein's "The Sound Of Music" April 18, 19 and 20. Show times are: April 18, 7:30 p.m.; April 19, 2 and 7:30 p.m.; and April 20, 2 p.m.

The show will be held in the high school auditorium. We hope to see you there. Come and support the kids who have worked very hard to make this a great show you will enjoy.

Soup, sandwich sale

On Saturday, April 19, the Clear Spring High School FBLA is having a soup and sandwich dinner from 4:30-7:30 p.m. between "The Sound of Music" show times.

So, come support the kids after the 2 p.m show or before the 7:30 p.m. show with dinner.
