Guerilla Girl to visit Wilson College during community art event

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - An appearance by Frida Kahlo, stage name of a member of the famed Guerilla Girls arts activist organization, will highlight the eighth annual Wilson College Arts Day - a day of free, arts-related events.

Arts Day will be Wednesday, April 2, at Wilson College, 1015 Philadelphia Ave. Kahlo will give an interactive presentation and performance on the history of the Guerilla Girls, and changes in the roles of women in the art world at 3 p.m. in Thomson Hall.

Arts Day features art exhibits, dance performances, a raku pottery demonstration, a worship service, and an equestrian drill team performance. Events will take place throughout the day and are open to the public.

Flash Animation Festival seeks entries

College students in West Virginia and all bordering states are invited to participate in West Liberty State College's eighth annual Flash Animation Festival.

Cash prizes totaling $2,000 will be awarded in 11 categories, including comedy short animation, interactive games, advertisement, artistic installation, personal resume, educational and high school entry.
