How did you get into your business, or what motivated you to start it?: I decided to open my own accounting practice as the next step in my accounting career. Over the last 18 years, I have been serving clients while employed in other accounting firms and decided I wanted to engage my entrepreneurial spirit and go out on my own. It has been very satisfying helping my clients on a one-on-one basis with their tax, accounting and financial needs.
Previous business experience: I am a certified public accountant with more than 18 years of experience. I have gained knowledge, experience and real-life understanding of tax and accounting situations and opportunities from working for several local and regional public accounting firms as well as a short period of employment in industry. I have experience in individual, corporate, partnership, and limited liability company accounting and taxation. I am licensed in West Virginia and Maryland, but have experience preparing returns for other states. I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
