The City of Hagerstown recently was awarded $250,000 in grants to help fund two projects in the city, Planning Director Kathleen Maher said Thursday.
The state awarded Hagerstown a $100,000 grant to help restore the upper floors of downtown buildings, and a $150,000 grant to help pay for the construction of affordable housing near the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and South Potomac Street, Maher said.
The grants were part of the state's Community Legacy awards, Maher said.
