Class of 1957 to hold meeting

The WHS Class of 1957 will meet on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the Western Sizzler. They look forward to sharing school days memories, seeing classmates and friends.

Justin Walters gains school honor

Justin Walters was selected as the February recipient of the Community Partnership Character Counts! Award for elementary school students from the Washington County Commissioners.

Justin is 8 years old and a third-grade student at Williamsport Elementary School. He was nominated by his teacher, Kelly Miller-Secrest.

He received a certificate of merit signed by the five County Commissioners along with a Character Counts! designed T-shirt. His family, school and hometown are very proud of Justin!

Pancake breakfast set for Saturday

Rehoboth United Methodist Church is hosting an all-you- can-eat pancake breakfast Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m.

The church is at 30 E. Salisbury St. Tickets cost $5.50 for adults and $3.50 for children 11 and younger.

The menu consists of pancakes, eggs, sausage links, sausage gravy, puddin', coffee and juice. Call the church at 301-223-9554 for more information

Ruritan plans breakfast event

The Downsville Ruritan will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Downsville Ruritan Community Center (near the square).

Breakfast include pancakes, Hoffman sausage, puddin', sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, coffee, orange juice and milk. Tickets cost $5.50 for adults and $3.50 for children 6 to 12. Children younger than 5 eat free. All proceeds benefit Ruritan community projects.

March Madness fundraiser planned

A March Madness fundraiser bonanza sponsored by the Lions Club of Williamsport will be Saturday at Williamsport American Legion Post 202.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

There will be cash drawings - every 10th ticket wins $20; 50th ticket wins $50; 100th ticket wins $100. Grand Prize is $500. Ticket No. 001 will be auctioned. Only 150 tickets will be sold. Tickets cost $20 per person. You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase tickets.

Lions Club plans golf outing

Get your golf team together and sign up for the Williamsport Lions Club's 15th annual golf tournament to be held Thursday, April 24, at Black Rock Golf Course.

It will feature a shotgun start with tee-off at 9 a.m. The cost is $65 per player or $260 per team and is a best-ball format. A buffet meal is included. Proceeds will go to support the Hospital Equipment Loaner Program, youth projects, scholarships, eye exams, glasses, hearing aid programs, provide 70 family Christmas food baskets and Toys for the Needy.

Sharing St. Patrick's Day birthdays are Juliette Bragunier, who turns 2 years old, our son, JL Knode, Fran Machen, Doris Davis, Dottie Miller and Joshua Grove. Emily Crabtree is also celebrating her 44th birthday on March 17.

My granddaughter, Madison, is teaching me text messaging. She developed a total program of text and meanings and a multiple choice test. I hope I pass; she is tough on grading! g2g4ncu (got to go for now see you) "Around Williamsport"!
