Angel L. Campher

Due to a source's error, the first name of Angel Louise Campher was misspelled in her obituary, which was published in Friday's edition of The Herald-Mail.

The obituary also had a misspelled name for the pastor who will conduct graveside services. His name is Henry Barthalow.

Ella G. Bowers, 86

Ella Geraldine Bowers, 86, of 152 Buttercup Drive in Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, March 7, 2008, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Born June 11, 1921, in Fannettsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Donald Matthew and Sadie LaRue Traxler McAllen.


She was a graduate of Metal Township Vocational High School in Fannettsburg.

She was a member of Christ's Reformed Church in Hagerstown.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jack A. Bowers, whom she married Oct. 30, 1940; one daughter, Susan C. and her husband, Dennis L. Bonebrake, of Hagerstown; two sons, Donald C. and wife, Jacquelyn R. Bowers, and Rodger F. and wife, Andrea F. Bowers, both of Hagerstown; one sister, Nancy Umbrell of Spring Run, Pa.; two brothers, Harry McAllen and Donald McAllen, both of Fannettsburg; six grandchildren, John M. Bowers, Jeffrey A. Bowers, D. Wesley Bonebrake, Christina S. Heuer, Justin Bowers and Whitney J. Bowers; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Hockenberry and Betty Adams; and one brother, John McAllen.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Rebecca J.P. Hoover officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Georg R. Scott, 46

MARCH 9, 1961-MARCH 7, 2008

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Georg R. Scott, 46, of 12575 Scott Road, died Friday, March 7, 2008, at his home of brain cancer.

Born March 9, 1961, in Fort Campbell, Ky., he was the son of Robert and Ortrud Mueller Scott of Zullinger, Pa.

He was a 1979 graduate of Waynesboro High School. He received an associate degree from Campbell University in North Carolina and a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University.

He was employed by Manitowoc in Shady Grove, Pa.

He served in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm and the Haitian conflict.

He was a member of Salem Church in Waynesboro, where he served as an elder, youth leader, lay minister and deacon.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Wendy L. Boswell Scott, whom he married April 10, 1982; one daughter, Emily J. Schuit of Waynesboro; one son, Seth M. Scott of Shippensburg, Pa.; one sister, Patricia Allen of Panama; one brother, Thomas Scott of Harrisburg, Pa.; and one nephew.

A memorial service will be Saturday, March 15, at 3 p.m. at Salem Church, Waynesboro. Pastors Lin Smalec and Bill Schuit will officiate.

Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in the columbarium at Salem Church.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Harold G. Henry Jr., 58

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Harold G. "Butch" Henry Jr., 58, of 5151 Greenvillage Road, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Jan. 6, 1950, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Harold G. Henry and Viola Pfeiffer Cook.

He last was employed as a truck driver.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon E. Hockenberry Henry, whom he married Sept. 27, 1980; one daughter, Tina Pinsky of Chambersburg; one son, David Henry of Waynesboro, Pa.; three brothers, Jerry W. Henry and Gregory L. Henry, both of Fayetteville, Pa., and Stephen L. Henry of Chambersburg; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. Pastor Earl Mills will officiate. Military honors will be provided by Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599.

The family will receive friends Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mark A. Olson, 23

MARCH 28, 1984-MARCH 7, 2008

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mark A. Olson, 23, of 714 Mahantango Drive, died Friday, March 7, 2008, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in the 600 block of Fifth Avenue in Chambersburg.

Born March 28, 1984, in Long Beach, Calif., he was the son of Gary A. and Mary A. Rose Olson of Chambersburg.

He was a 2002 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, where he played soccer, basketball and baseball. He attended Allegany Community College.

He was employed by Valley Quarries in Chambersburg.

He played for the Chambersburg Maroons and American Legion baseball.
