Maugansville Senior Friendship Club

The Maugansville Senior Friendship Club will meet March 4 at Tops Chinese Buffet. A Dutch treat lunch at noon will be followed by the meeting. Don't forget to bring your items and class rings for Karen to look at. There will be a prize for the oldest class ring. Even if you know your class ring wouldn't be the oldest, it will be fun to share the different ones with the group. Any St. Patrick's decorations would be welcome. Let's shake those winter blahs with an interesting meeting!

For more information, please call Frances Bargiel at 301-739-6748 or Dorothy Smith at 301-745-6355.

Free smoke detectors for Maugansville citizens

The Maugansville Fire Co. has a lot of free smoke detectors for the citizens of Maugansville. Smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years. Anyone that is in need of a detector is asked to call 301-739-8515 and leave a message in the Fire Prevention mailbox. Someone will be in contact within a couple days. Last month alone, the company replaced 20 smoke detectors in the community.

Happy birthday to Allison Martin, who turned 12 years old on Feb. 28. She is a sixth-grader at Western Heights Middle School.
