Over the last week, The Herald-Mail found and talked to most of the people who applied for the House of Delegates seat vacated by Robert A. McKee.
The Washington County Republican Central Committee, which is in charge of sending Gov. Martin O'Malley a recommendation of who should be appointed, said Monday that 19 people applied.
As of Thursday, the committee had not announced its choice.
Below is a little about the applicants, based on brief conversations with the ones who could be reached:
· Donald L. Armstrong II, 42, lives north of Hagerstown and is a machinist for Volvo Powertrain North America.
· James K. Childerston, 52, lives north of Hagerstown. He is a psychologist with a private practice in Hagerstown.
· Jeff Cline, 51, of Williamsport, is a Williamsport Town Council member and a Realtor with Roger Fairbourn Real Estate.
· Jim Elliott, 66, of Halfway, is in charge of site security at Washington County District Court and is retired from the Army.
