Easter Bunny to be at mall

The Easter Bunny will make his way into the Halfway area on Saturday.

Get a chance to visit with and have a keepsake photo taken with the furry, floppy- eared friend in his beautiful spring garden at Center Court in Valley Mall through Saturday, March 22.

Each child who has their photo taken will receive a special prize. Photo packages begin at $13.99. The Easter Bunny will be on hand Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with carrot breaks from 1 to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 5:15 p.m.

March is American Red Cross Month

The Red Cross will be kicking off the month with a special event on Saturday.

Save-a-Life Saturday will be held at the Washington County Red Cross headquarters at 1131 Conrad Court in Hagerstown from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be free food and beverages, free adult CPR training from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (must call to register), free child and infant CPR training (must call to register), and free CPR recertification from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (must call to register). Those wanting to participate in the CPR classes should call 301-739-0717.

A blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded from Carson's Jewelers and Spicher's Appliances.

Rock away your cabin fever blues

Join in the live music celebration for Cabin Fever Blues Bash on Friday, March 7, at 8 p.m. at The Maryland Theatre in downtown Hagerstown.

This is a prelude to the 2008 Western Maryland Blues Fest and will feature Gina Sicilia. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The show will be from 8 to 10 p.m.

Baseball signups

If you missed preregistration and would like to participate in the 2008 Halfway Little League, registration will be Saturday, March 8, from noon to 3 p.m. at Halfway Little League in Martin "Marty" Snook Memorial Park.

For those players who are not already on a Little League team, tryouts will be on Saturday, March 8, beginning at 11 a.m. for children ages 11 and 12, at 12:30 p.m. for children who are 10, and 2 p.m. for children who are 9. Tryouts will be held on Sunday, March 9, at 1 p.m. for children who are 11 and 12 and 2:30 p.m. for children who are 9 and 10. On Monday, March 10, tryouts will be held at 5 p.m. for children of all ages.

Bonanza set

The Halfway Bonanza is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, and tickets are $30 per couple. A few tickets are still available. For those interested in tickets or for registration information, please contact Staci at 301-223-7914.

Easter drama to be performed

The Virginia Avenue Church of God, at 17306 Virginia Ave., will be presenting its annual Easter drama, "His Story" on Friday, March 14, Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16.

Annual bake sale set for Saturday

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, at 1020 Maryland Ave., will be hosting a bake sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Assorted cakes, cookies, apple dumplings, candies and sticky buns will be available. All proceeds from the sale of this event will benefit the "Relay for Life."
