Community Action Council seeks state money to hire two case workers

February 27, 2008

The Washington County Community Action Council will apply for a three-year grant to help low-income residents after the Washington County Commissioners approved the application Tuesday.

If awarded, the state grant would provide $214,917 from 2009 through 2011 to pay for two case management workers, CAC Deputy Director Sherry L. Neil said.

The workers would help low-income residents find mental health services, job training, health care, budget counseling, substance abuse treatment and other services, Neil said.
