Last week's question/

Given that Maryland does not have a right of recall, how can citizens encourage elected officials to attend official meetings?

Choice No. 1: Dock their pay.

· 53 votes (76 percent)

Choice No. 2: Humiliate them in public.

· 17 votes (24 percent)

One comment: Neither one of these answers feel right to me. These are supposed to be professional people. We shouldn't have to do anything to get them to do their job. What is the solution? Not sure really, I guess it depends on how many meetings an official misses. I would not re-elect someone who misses a lot of meetings though.

This week's question

What do you feel it's essential to know about the presidential candidates that they or their campaigns haven't told you yet?
