February 24, 2008

FREDERICK, Md. - A Walkersville, Md., man was charged with attempted first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing a teen under his left eye during a fight at the suspect's home early Saturday, according to a Frederick County Sheriff's Office press release.

Lawrence L. Geisler Jr., 51, still was waiting to see a bond commissioner Saturday night, according to officials at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

Geisler also was charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, deputies said.

Deputies responded to the 8800 block of Challenge Walk at 7:50 a.m. to assist firefighters with an injured person. The 19-year-old victim - also a Walkersville resident - was sitting on the curb when deputies arrived, and had a two-inch laceration below his left eye, deputies said.

The investigation revealed the two had been in a fight and the victim was stabbed, deputies said.
