A ball python that was found in Sharpsburg and taken to the Humane Society of Washington County was returned to its owner after it was recognized on the Antietam Cable Pet of the Week segment the week of Jan. 18.

Fondly referred to as Snidley by the staff, the snake was filmed for the weekly segment aired repeatedly on Antietam Cable the third week of January.

The owner recognized the snake as his long absent reptilian pet and called the shelter.

Missing since November, the owner was pleased to have his snake back with him. The shelter staff is happy Snidley found his way home.

The Humane Society is grateful to the various media outlets who help in its efforts to find permanent homes for the 5,600 animals the shelter receives at the shelter each year
