Danny will be the ripe young age of 50 on Friday.

West Hagerstown Lions Club plans pancake breakfast

On Saturday, March 8, the West Hagerstown Lions Club will hold a pancake breakfast at Girls Inc. on Washington Avenue.

Pancakes, Hoffman sausage, puddin', orange juice and coffee will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. Tickets cost $4. Preschool-aged children eat free.

There also will be a craft table open during the breakfast event.

Alsatia Club plans golf tournament

The Alsatia Club is planning its annual golf tournament to be held May 23 at Caledonia State Park in Fayetteville, Pa.

The Alsatia Club is looking for sponsors. All business and individuals are welcomed to sponsor one of the holes on the golf course. For $100, you will have your business and/or name placed on a plaque at the hole you desire. Please contact Russell Richards at 301-733-9277 by May 9 if you are interested in sponsoring or if you have any questions.

If interested, you may also play in the tournament for a fee of $50 per person, which includes greens fee and lunch.

There will be prizes awarded for first, second, and third place. Door prizes also will be available.

All proceeds from the golf tournament will go to those who are less fortunate in our community.

Red Cross plans Save-A-Life event

March is American Red Cross Month. The local chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a Save-A-Life event on Saturday, March 1.

In addition to free food and beverages, demonstrations of adult CPR, child and infant CPR and CPR recertification will be included. Door prizes, which are being offered by Carson Jewelers and Spichers Appliances, will be given away.

Rummage sale to be held at church

Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 802 Summit Ave., will have its semi-annual rummage sale on Friday, Feb. 29 and Saturday, March 1, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be soup, sandwiches, baked goods and beverages for sale both days. Come and find lots of goodies and have lunch. This is a United Methodist Women project.
