CLEAR SPRING - Greg Minnick posted a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead No. 2 Williamsport to a 73-45 win over Clear Spring on Tuesday, clinching at least a tie for the MVAL Antietam title.

The Wildcats (16-3, 8-1) lead Brunswick by one game in the conference standings. Williamsport can win the title outright by beating the Railroaders on Friday.

Eric Wilfong had 15 points and Travis Sluger added 13 for the Wildcats (16-3, 8-1).

Keith Gilchrist scored 12 points for the Blazers (10-10, 3-6).

No. 4 Jefferson 82, Musselman 55

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Vance Hosby had 16 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks to lead Jefferson over Musselman.

Tyler Hester had 17 points and eight boards for the Cougars (14-5), while Dewey McDonald and Justin Fagan each had 16 points and five boards.

Jonathan Alvarez and Joshua Walters each scored 13 points and Logan Holloman added 11 for the Applemen (12-8).


St. James 54, Georgetown Day 53

SAINT JAMES - Mike Russ scored a game-high 21 points and had 11 rebounds as St. James edged Georgetown Day in Mid Atlantic Conference action.

Russ made a free throw with 10 seconds left to give the Saints a 54-50 lead. Georgetown Day's Max Keenan hit a 3-pointer to make it a one-point game with three seconds left, but St. James was able to run out the clock.

Jordan Barr had 14 points and Spencer Draper had 12 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals for the Saints (15-9, 6-6).

Jeremy Arnstein had 16 points to lead Georgetown Day (6-12, 4-8).

Berkeley Springs 59, Hancock 40

HANCOCK - Joseph Wright scored 22 points to lead Berkeley Springs over Hancock.

Leonard Roach had 17 points for the Indians (6-14).

Steven Beaver, B.J. Weller and Jacob Foreman each scored eight points for the Panthers (6-14).

Shalom 37, New Life 36

MARION, Pa. - Nathanael Raber hit a jumper as time expired to lead Shalom Christian over New Life Christian in the first round of the Mason Dixon Christian Conference Tournament.

Caleb Hussack had 11 points and Matt Horner added 10 for the Flames (14-9). Hussack and Raber each had 10 rebounds.

Heritage 60, Grace 34

Andrew Harrell scored 14 points and Andrew Hendershot had 12 points to lead Heritage Academy over Grace Academy (1-22) in the first round of the MDCC.

Hamilton Stamper had eight points and eight blocks, while Troy Cosner had eight points and eight rebounds for the Eagles (20-2).

Heritage will play Shalom in the semifinals Friday at Grace Academy.

CVCS 67, Faith 27

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Andrew Larson had 26 points and five steals to help Cumberland Valley Christian cruise past Faith Christian in the opening round of the MDCC Tournament.

Charles McBeth had 14 points and 16 rebounds, Austin Sanders added 10 points and Tyler Larson had eight assists for the Blazers (17-7), who never trailed after jumping out to an 11-0 lead.

Broadfording 87, Calvary 53

Devin Gourdine had 24 points, including six 3-pointers, and five assists to lead Broadfording over Calvary (6-15) in an MDCC Tournament opening round rout.

Gabe Hirsch had 13 points and six rebounds, Ethan Reynolds had 12 points and eight rebounds and Armondo Miller had 10 points for the Lions (18-8).

Broadfording will face Cumberland Valley Christian on Friday at Grace Academy.

Mercersburg 58, Friends Central 53

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Brett Burrier scored 20 points to help Mercersburg Academy beat Friends Central.

Ben Eaton had 19 points and A.J. Dean added 11 for the Blue Storm (4-18).


N. Bedford 55, No. 6 Southern Fulton 40

EVERETT, Pa. - Brooke Whiteside had 13 points, four steals and three assists, but Southern Fulton couldn't rebound from a slow start and lost to Northern Bedford in a PIAA District 5-A consolation playoff game.

Chelsea Hollenshead had 10 points, five rebounds and four steals for the Indians (19-8).

Williamsport 64, Clear Spring 24

WILLIAMSPORT - Kelly Beard posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds to help Williamsport to an MVAL Antietam victory over Clear Spring (3-17, 0-9).

Morgan Smith had 16 points and eight rebounds for the Wildcats (9-12, 5-4).

Grace 42, Broadfording 28

Kelsie Shaffer had a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds to lead Grace Academy to a win over Broadfording Christian Academy in the first round of the MDCC Tournament.

Megan Everett scored 14 points and Tori Aikens added 10 for the Knights (9-16).

Katie Connolly had 18 points to lead Broadfording (12-15).

Heritage 71, Calvary 36

Bri Dorsey had a triple-double with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 steals to lift Heritage Academy to a win over Calvary Christian in the first round of the MDCC Tournament.

Morgan McIntire had 26 points, 12 rebounds, seven steals and three assists, Caroline Clark had 12 points and 11 rebounds and Rebekah Clarke had seven steals and six rebounds for the Eagles (17-6).
