MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Three Martinsburg men accused of assaulting and robbing a Martinsburg couple after invading their home in August 2007 were indicted Tuesday by a Berkeley County grand jury on the first day of the February term of Circuit Court.

Darryl L. Ford, 31, of 910 Central Ave.; Scott D. McDonough, 21, of 905 N. Queen St.; and Steven J. Taylor, 20, each were indicted on two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy.

Multiple counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of assault during the commission of a felony also were handed up in the state's case against the men by the sequestered jury panel, which will reconvene today, Prosecuting Attorney Pamela J. Games-Neely said Tuesday afternoon.

Police said McDonough volunteered information that implicated Taylor and Ford in the home invasion-style burglary Aug. 10, according to court records. The victims told police they suspected three men were in the home after they were blindfolded and gagged with duct tape. The male victim was stabbed and beaten, and the female was sexually abused, according to court records.
