Eye-care seminar to be held March 9



Hagerstown Community College, in collaboration with Allegany Optical, is offering a full-day professional eye-care seminar on Sunday, March 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at HCC's Kepler Theater.

Topics include ocular allergy, advanced contact lens materials and products, glaucoma management, the treatment of exudative AMD and the use of steroids in eye care.

Trauma care subject of seminar



Hagerstown Community College, in collaboration with Washington County Hospital, is offering a full-day seminar titled "Topics in Trauma Care." It will be held Thursday, March 6, from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Robinwood Medical Center, suite 142.

Topics will include initial stabilization of head injuries, the "golden hour," use of X-rays in the evaluation process, glucose management in trauma care and designer/club drugs. Knee and hip seminar set



Hagerstown Community College is offering a full-day seminar titled "Therapeutic Treatment of the Arthritic Knee and Hip" on Friday, March 14, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at HCC's Kepler Theater.

Discussion will include a review of knee and hip anatomy and biomechanics, normal and abnormal anatomy, common orthopedic conditions, diagnostic testing, and surgical and nonsurgical options.

Continuing education credits will be provided for physical therapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, radiographers and nurses.
