Kathleen Elizabeth Jones graduated from Shepherd University in May. She received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration.

Kathleen is employed by Fil-Tec Inc. of Smithsburg as an administrative assistant. Kathleen is a 2002 graduate of Williamsport High School.

She is the daughter of Al and Liz Jones of Williamsport.

Amber Henry has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Penn State University.

Amber is a freshman majoring in secondary education. She is a 2007 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

She is the daughter of Tim and Linda Henry of Hagerstown.

Katie Hutzell, a student at Shepherd University, has been selected to the National Dean's List and has earned a nomination to serve as an international delegate at the International Scholar Laureate Program this summer.

Katie's participation in the program will place her in a select group of students from across the United States.

She is the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Hutzell.

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Hunter Wade of Hagers-town and Elizabeth Pruitt of Walkersville, Md., have been named to the dean's list for the fall 2007 semester at the University of Vermont.

Wade is a junior majoring in Spanish in the College of Arts and Sciences

Pruitt is a junior majoring in history in the College of Arts and Sciences

To be named to the dean's lists, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

GRANTHAM, Pa. - The following area students were named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Messiah College. Dean's list is earned by receiving a 3.6 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale:

Kelsey Tokar, of Frederick, Md., a junior majoring in sociology.

Erica Work, of Frederick, a sophomore majoring in Christian ministries.

Corrie Jones, of Hagerstown, a senior majoring in sport and exercise science.

Alison Roncin, of Middletown, Md., a junior majoring in English.

Juliann Grossnickle, of Myersville, Md., a sophomore majoring in elementary education.

Christopher Showe, of Smithsburg, a senior majoring in Christian ministries.

Abigail Andrews, of Williamsport, a senior majoring in humanities.

NEW LONDON, Conn. - Brittany Harrington of Myersville, Md., has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Mitchell College.

Dean's list honors are awarded to students with grade-point averages between 3.5 and 4.0.

Molly Ranelle Schweinhart has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va.

Schweinhart, a freshman, is a 2007 graduate of Smithsburg High School.

Dean's list status requires a 3.5 grade-point average.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Johnson & Wales University student Erin O'Brien of Hagerstown has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester.

O'Brien is in the College of Culinary Arts. To receive dean's list status, a student must earn a cumulative grade-point average of 3.4 or better.

Colin Tierney has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Towson University.

Colin is a senior majoring in graphic art design.

He is a 2003 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

He is the son of Terry and Kathy Tierney of Hagers-town.

RADFORD, Va. - Renata A. Schmersal of Hagerstown has been named to the dean's list at Radford University for the fall semester.

Renata, the daughter of Amy Schmersal of Hagerstown, is a freshman fashion major.

To be named to the dean's list, a student must have taken 15 or more credit hours and have a grade-point average of 3.4 or above with no grade below a C.

Adrienne Tracey, of Smithsburg, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Frostburg State University.

She earned a 4.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Laurel M. Thomas, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., has been named to the dean's list at Virginia Tech for the fall semester.

Thomas is a senior majoring in industrial design in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies.

Thomas Edward Wolfe III will be inducted into the Alpha Sigma Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society at Utah Valley State College on April 5.

Wolfe, from Hagerstown, majoring in aviation, is the son of Thomas Wolfe II and Jeanny Strite of Hagerstown.

SWEET BRIAR, Va. - Sarah Fox Schofield, daughter of Carol Fox Schofield of Hagerstown, was awarded first-year honors at Sweet Briar College for outstanding academic achievement for the 2007 fall semester.

Schofield is majoring in music.

Stacie Leatherman of Hagerstown, who is a student athlete at the University of Mississippi, was recently named to the dean's list for the fall semester.

She is attending the school on an athletic scholarship. She is a is a member of the school's all-women's rifle team.

She is a 2007 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

Joelle Keyser of Boonsboro and Angela Harvey of Middletown, Md., have been named to the dean's list at Gardner-Webb University for the fall semester.

The school is in Boiling Springs, N.C.

Matthew S. Baer, of Hagerstown, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Scranton. A student must have a grade-point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the dean's list.

Evan Pheobus of Frederick, Md., and Elisa Alexander of Kearneysville, W.Va., have been named to the dean's list for the fall term at the University of Cincinnati.
