Mediterranean cooking

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Roula Jarjour will lead a four-week course in Mediterranean cooking. There will be a focus on appetizers to desserts from a variety of Middle East countries. Class members will receive recipes and samples of what is prepared. Donations are welcome to help cover the cost of the food. Wednesdays 6:45 p.m. opening program, 7 p.m. class. Learn to crochet

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Jen Dandy will teach students how to chain stitch to start any crochet project, as well as a few simple stitches. Yarn, crochet hooks and patterns will be provided. Principles of landscape design

Theater classes

Hagerstown Children's Theater/Walking Performing Arts will offer the following classes:

Let's put in a show, an eight-week workshop where students learn basic theatrical skills such as body movement, character development, scene study, pantomime and more. At the end of the workshop, scenes from "The Wizard of Oz" will be presented to family and friends.

Early childhood classes for ages 3 to 5, "Circus Under the Big Top," will nurture budding creativity through circus-themed games and activities.

Home school classes: Day classes offered in theater skill development, group piano and group voice.

Lifeguard class

Assessment and management of post-traumatic stress disorder

The seminar will examine the causes of post-traumatic stress disorder, signs and symptoms, diagnosis criteria, and cognitive and behavioral interventions to help manage symptoms. Continuing education credits will be provided for social workers, psychologists, counselors/therapists and nurses. Offered by Hagerstown Community College in collaboration with Brook Lane Health Services. 8:30 a.m. to noon. Mini cheerleading class

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. -- Children ages 3 to 5 will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading including arm motions, voice projection, cheers and dance. Students should be able to attend class without a parent present and be potty trained well enough for a 30-minute class. Pompoms are included in the price of the class.
