MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Jefferson County Schools' transportation coordinator was incarcerated Tuesday night at Eastern Regional Jail after being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, a ranking Charles Town Police Department officer confirmed.

Robert Michael Boylan, 57, of Martinsburg, was charged by Charles Town Police Department Cpl. G.M. Manning, who conducted a traffic stop at 5:18 p.m. Tuesday along East Washington Street near the 7-Eleven store, Sgt. W.M. Spessert said.

Boylan, who was booked at 8 p.m., had not been arraigned as of 10 p.m., according to an Eastern Regional Jail officer.

Unaware of the allegations, Jefferson County Board of Education President Pete Dougherty confirmed Boylan's employment with the school district in a brief interview, but declined to give additional comment Tuesday night.
