A 17-year-old from Pikesville, Md., was charged as an adult Saturday in the Jan. 23 armed robbery of a Hagerstown cab driver, Washington County District Court records show.

Police say Milton Paul Brown, of 539 Alter Ave., pointed a shotgun or rifle at the driver's head and demanded all of his money, according to charging documents. The driver, Mark Sarver of Miller's Transportation, handed over about $35, detective Jason Ackerman wrote.

Brown was identified with help from a man who shared the cab with him before the incident, Ackerman wrote.

Brown was charged with armed robbery, theft less than $100, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, court records show. On Monday, a judge raised his bail to $125,000 from $35,000, court records show.

A preliminary hearing in the case was scheduled for Feb. 20.
