Fetterhoff Chapel Road in Quincy Township to be closed through Friday

February 12, 2008|By JENNIFER FITCH

Crews from CSX Transportation work Monday at Fetterhoff Chapel Road, which is scheduled to be closed through Friday.

The Quincy Township, Pa., road was closed to allow CSX to remove a railroad crossing and reprofile the road as it approaches Pa. 316, according to a spokesman with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

PennDOT reported that 740 vehicles use the road daily and will be detoured using Altenwald Road.

"I'm sure whatever they're doing is in line with what we talked about as far as making Fetterhoff Chapel one track there," said Quincy Township Supervisor Robert "Bob" Gunder.

The township has been working with PennDOT, CSX and the Public Utility Commission to revamp or eliminate the railroad crossings at Fetterhoff Chapel and Altenwald roads.
