The Washington County Community Mediation Center will offer free mediation training to the public.

The center is looking for persons ages 13 and older to become professionally trained volunteer mediators. These mediators will help neighbors, families, couples and co-workers in Washington County peacefully solve their conflicts and rebuild relationships.

The training requires a commitment of completion of 50 hours of basic mediation training.

Those interested in participating in the training must attend a mandatory orientation on Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Aspiring to Serve Building, at 140 W. Franklin St., Fourth Floor, Commission on Aging Conference Room, in Hagerstown.

The training will be held on weekends in March, including March 8-9, 15-16 and 29-30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with lunch provided.
