FREDERICK, Md. - Two men were flown to Washington County Hospital Friday morning after they were injured in a four-vehicle collision on Interstate 270 north of Md. 80 in Frederick County, according to a Maryland State Police press release.

Kenneth Carr, of Charles Town, W.Va., and Anthony Johnson, 71, of Silver Spring, Md., were listed as patients in the emergency room on Friday about 11:15 a.m., a hospital spokeswoman said.

Two other men also involved in the accident were not injured, troopers said.

None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, troopers said.

The accident happened at 7:50 a.m. when two vehicles, one driven by Johnson, were northbound on Interstate 270 and sideswiped each other, troopers said. Johnson's vehicle crossed the median, sideswiped a third vehicle and struck a fourth vehicle head-on. The third and fourth vehicles had been in the southbound lane of I-270, troopers said.

Carr had been driving the vehicle that was struck head-on, police said.
