Children's summer art camp registration open

The multidisciplinary art camp is produced in conjunction with the Washington County Recreation and Parks Department. Children will receive instruction in drawing, painting, sculpting, movement, music and drama, plus some fun crafts. Full-day art camp for elementary school children ages 6 to 12. Guitar lessons

Potomac Valley Master Naturalist Program registration deadline

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Potomac Valley Audubon Society's Master Naturalist Program is open to all Eastern Panhandle residents who are interested in being certified as master naturalists by the state of West Virginia. Training will kick off with two full days of classes the weekend of April 11 to 13. After that, there will be one full day of classes each month (all on Saturdays) through September, and two full Saturdays of classes during October. About half of the classes will be held at Cacapon State Park in Morgan County, W.Va., and half at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's National Conservation Training Center in Jefferson County, W.Va. Enrollment is limited to 20 persons. Deadline for applications is Wednesday, Feb. 13. $300 per person for full course. New this year are Master Naturalist Workshops to be used as elective courses for master naturalist members and trainees. However, they will be open on a space-available basis to the public. Workshops will be held at Cacapon State Park on Saturday, April 26, Aug. 23, and Sept. 6; and at NCTC Saturday, May 10. Free art workshops

Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will offer free art workshops. The workshops are sponsored in part by Washington County Arts Council. The workshops are:

· Embroidery: make a beautiful textile workshop for ages 8 to 14 with Barbara Diefenderfer, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16.

· Photography success: getting an eye for the camera workshop for ages 10 to 16, 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29.

· Creative collage workshop with Kathryn Lant, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for ages 4 to 7; and 2 to 3:30 p.m. for ages 8 to 12, Saturday, April 26.
