CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Sixteen people were being sought by the Chambersburg Police Department Thursday in connection with drug trafficking in the borough during the past several months.

As of 2 p.m. about 10 of the suspects had been arraigned on charges, according to Magisterial District Judge Gary Carter's office.

The department and the Franklin County Drug Task Force had been conducting a joint investigation during the last few months of 2007, using a confidential informant to make drug buys, police said.

The department's Crime Impact Team began serving the warrants Thursday morning, police said. The department was being assisted by deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and county constables, police said.
