Waynesboro woman injured in accident



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Waynesboro, Pa., woman was taken to Chambersburg Hospital on Saturday morning after she lost control of her vehicle and drove into a cornfield in Guilford Township, according to a Pennsylvania State Police press release.

Linda M. Clark, 32, of Waynesboro, was on Garman Drive when she lost control of the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer she was driving, police said. The vehicle struck a road sign and came to rest in the cornfield, police said.

Icy road conditions caused the accident, police said.

A hospital spokeswoman said Clark was released from the hospital Saturday.




Man cited for careless driving in I-81 crash



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Wayne, Pa., man was cited for careless driving Friday night after he fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle on Interstate 81, and struck a guardrail, according to a Pennsylvania State Police press release.

Richard E. Doughty, 69, of Wayne, was southbound on I-81 when the accident occurred, police said. His vehicle, a 2002 Buick Park Avenue, came to rest near the Exit 5 off ramp, police said.

Doughty was not injured, police said.




Mercersburg man hurt when SUV rolls over



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Mercersburg, Pa., man suffered minor injuries Friday afternoon when his Nissan SUV rolled over after it struck an embankment in the 5000 block of Edenville Road in Hamilton Township, according to a Pennsylvania State Police press release.

Cory Hornbaker of Mercersburg was eastbound on Edenville Road when the accident occurred, police said.

Hornbaker was driving too fast when he lost control of the vehicle on the wet road, police said.




Wires knocked down in Pa. accident



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Electrical wires were knocked down Friday in the 100 block of Garman Drive in Guilford Township after a man lost control of his 1992 Ford Escort and it struck a utility pole, according to a Pennsylvania State Police press release.

Zachary A. Settlage, 20, of Mont Alto, Pa., was northbound on Garman Drive when the accident occurred, police said.
