Body found in SUV

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Police in Harrisburg, Pa., found a body in the back seat of an SUV that was reported stolen Friday afternoon in Chambersburg, Detective Sgt. Dianne Kelso of the Chambersburg Police Department said Saturday.

Although the identity of the body and the cause of death are unknown, police are treating the case as a homicide, Kelso said.

Juan R. Johnson, 24, of no fixed address, is wanted in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle and for questioning in regard to the homicide, Kelso said. Warrants have been issued for his arrest.

Johnson is black man who is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He also goes by the names of Juwan Johnson and "J," Kelso said.


Johnson is known to frequent Chambersburg, Harrisburg and Philadelphia, Kelso said.

A 2000 Ford Excursion was reported stolen Friday at about 4:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Washington Street in Chambersburg, Kelso said. Harrisburg police told her that the vehicle was found Saturday between 9 and 9:30 a.m., she said.

Kelso said Chambersburg police on Saturday sent officers to Harrisburg to conduct an investigation.

The Franklin County Coroner's Office is to perform an autopsy of the body on Monday.
