No. 3 Martinsburg 64, Mercersburg Academy 59

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- Tevan Walker had a strong first half and Isaac Thornton picked it up in the second half as Martinsburg staved off Mercersburg Academy.

Walker had 16 of his 21 points in the first half as the Bulldogs (13-3) held a 31-30 lead. Thornton then scored 15 of his game-high 23 points in the second half.

Brett Burrier led Mercersburg (3-11) with 21 points, while Tony Truitt added 15 and Gabe Martin 10.

Waynesboro 49, Central Dauphin 45

COLONIAL PARK, Pa. -- Waynesboro broke to a 10-point lead in the fourth period and then held off Central Dauphin with six free throws down the stretch by Aaron Moats and a 3-pointer by Derek Baker.

Tim Null led the Indians (11-11) with 16 points and Terrell Rickard had an all-around game with 12 points, six rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots. Jamison Walck had nine rebounds and eight points for the Indians.

Broadfording 69, Calvary 40

CRESAPTOWN, Md. -- Devin Gourdine scored 13 points as Broadfording Christian Academy beat Calvary Christian in the MDCC.

Steven Economos had six points, eight rebounds and three steals, Armando Miller had eight points, Spencer Leggett had four assists and Jacob Wyand grabbed six rebounds for the Lions (13-7, 8-2).

Jordan Peters had 19 points for Calvary (6-10, 2-9).

Martinsburg 45, No. 7 Berkeley Springs 35

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Jamie Hill scored 10 points as Martinsburg (6-10, 2-3) outlasted Berkeley Springs in overtime in an Apple Valley League matchup.

Amber Booher had 10 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals, Alex Tamez had five points and three assists, Kelsey McCoy had six points and two steals and Jessica Haynes had eight points for the Indians (9-7, 0-5).

Allegany 61, No. 6 Boonsboro 45

BOONSBORO -- Emma Dalton scored 15 points for Boonsboro in a loss to Allegany (12-2).

Brynn Arnone posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, while Katie Marshall had seven points and four assists for the Warriors (10-5).

St. Maria Goretti 58, Bishop Walsh 37

Sarah Spierenburg scored a season-high 22 points and the Gaels (13-8) held Bishop Walsh scoreless in the second period.

Carrissa Grove and Ana Navarez added 11 points apiece for the Gaels and Erica DiMercurio scored 10.

Mercersburg sweeps tri-meet

FRONT ROYAL, Va. -- Chris Kiser (119), Garrick Skubon (135), Nathan Stanford (140), James Hendrickson (145), Cody Barrick (152), Dunsin Alabi (189) and A.J. Firestone (285) each went 2-0 as Mercersburg Academy (3-7) beat Timber Ridge 66-5 and Randolph Macon 45-30.

Against Randolph Macon, Barrick beat Virginia state placewinner Michael Maroulis, 11-7.

MIDDLETOWN, Md. -- Will Corley won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.11 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 58.98 for Jefferson (11-3).

MIDDLETOWN, Md. -- KayC Alquist won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:23.22 for Jefferson (12-2).

Episcopal 6, Mercersburg 3

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- Mercersburg Academy (8-7) had three winners in a loss to Episcopal (Va.) Academy.

Valentin Quan won his match at No. 1, 3-2, and Josh Rosenblatt and Clayton Young each won 3-0 for the Blue Storm.

GIRLS SQUASH



Mercersburg 5, Episcopal 4

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Mercersburg Academy's top five players posted wins for the Blue Storm.

Anna Kelly won 3-2, Mary Lancaster and Rachel Greenberg were 3-0 winners, Emily Carl followed with a 3-1 win and Coralie Thomas had a 3-0 win.
