Hedgesville hiring postponed

January 29, 2008

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Hedgesville will have to wait another couple of weeks before it gets a new football coach.

The announcment was pushed back to Feb. 4's school board meeting. The board was tentatively scheduled to vote on the approval of the coach at Monday's meeting, but it was taken off the agenda.

Deputy Superintendent Frank Aliveto said "10 to 12 candidates" were interviewed to replace Dave Lopez, who resigned after last season. Hedgesville principal Don Dellinger conducted the interviews and the field has been narrowed to two finalists.
