SAINT JAMES - Mike Russ had 22 points and six rebounds and T.K. Washington had 13 points and 12 rebounds as St. James upset Mid Atlantic Conference leader Potomac School 49-47 on Thursday.

"It's a huge win for us, just huge," said St. James coach Mike Brooks, whose team improved to 3-4 in the conference and 9-6 overall.

Daniel Rizk had 15 points on five first-half 3-pointers for the Panthers (11-6, 5-1). He scored 12 of his points in the first quarter as Potomac jumped out to a 21-12 lead on its way to a 30-27 halftime advantage.

Brooks credited Jordan Barr and Spencer Draper for holding Rizk scoreless in the second half.

"They took turns on him and just completely locked him up," Brooks said. "Them shutting him down was just huge for us."


Grace Academy 36, Adams County Christian 35

Keith Sandell had eight points and eight rebounds to lead Grace Academy to its first victory of the season.

Zack Morgan contributed six points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Knights (1-14).

Kyle Kemper led Adams County Christian with 11 points.

Faith 63, Front Royal 45

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - H.B. Dunham had 24 points and Larry Kerns added 13 to lead Faith Christian (5-8) over Front Royal.


St. Maria Goretti 54, No. 7 Berkeley Springs 44

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Sarah Spierenburg had 17 points and six blocks to lead St. Maria Goretti over Berkeley Springs in an Apple Valley League game.

Angie Navarez had 13 points and seven assists, Carissa Grove added 10 points and seven rebounds and Erica DiMercurio had five assists for the Gaels (11-7, 1-3).

Amber Booher had 21 points, nine rebounds and seven steals and Rebecca Trump had 10 points and five assists for the Indians (9-5, 0-3).

St. James 57, Broadfording 40

Heather Lowery and Caroline Salisbury each scored 17 points and St. James outscored Broadfording 20-10 in the third quarter to pull away.

Lowery had 16 rebounds and Salisbury added seven steals for the Saints (5-12). Kali Worth made 7 of 9 free throws and finished with 11 points.

Katie Connolly was the only player in double figures for Broadfording (9-10) with 12 points.

MSD 33, Shalom 32

FREDERICK, Md. - Alexis Marquiss had nine points and six rebounds for Shalom Christian in a loss to Maryland School for the Deaf (13-2).

Olivia Grove had seven points and three steals and Christina Hussack had three blocks for the Flames (9-7).

Grace Academy 37, Adams County Christian 20

Kelsie Shaffer had 20 points and 20 rebounds as Grace Academy defeated Adams County Christian.

Megan Everett had 11 rebounds and Tori Aikens had nine rebounds and four assists for the Knights (6-10).

McConnellsburg 39, Forbes Road 31

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Michelle Baker scored 17 points to help McConnellsburg beat Forbes Road (6-11, 4-7) in the Sideling Hill League.

Courtney McClure had nine points and eight rebounds and J.J. DeShong had eight rebounds and three steals for the Spartans (8-9, 5-7).

Southern Fulton 55, Fannett-Metal 42

FANNETTSBURG, Pa. - Chelsea Hollenshead had 15 points and five steals as Southern Fulton beat Fannett-Metal in the Sideling Hill League.

Brooke Whiteside had 12 points, four steals and three assists for the Indians (11-6, 7-4).

Paige Yocum had 20 points for Fannett-Metal (4-14, 2-10).
