Hagerstown chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America

Tuesday, Jan. 29, 7 p.m., Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church meeting room, 11507 Robinwood Drive, east of Hagerstown. A slideshow of embellished wearables stitched by members will be presented. Sharing ideas about embellishing clothing will follow. All are welcome as guest stitchers for their first three meetings. Annual dues are $42.

Fundraisers



Food drive

Allegany Dental Care is hosting a food drive. Nonperishable food items can be dropped off at any of three Allegany Dental Care locations: 19418 Leitersburg Pike, 17719 Virginia Ave., or 22109 Jefferson Blvd. Offices are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. All donated food items will be given to Food Resources. The food drive concludes Monday, Jan. 28. Call 301-797-6381.

San Mar Children's Home annual raffle

BOONSBORO ? San Mar Children's Home is selling raffle tickets for a four bedroom, three bath Washington County home on 3.2 private acres. The home is at 13607 Indian Spring Road in Big Pool and has been appraised at $390,000. A maximum of 7,000 tickets will be sold. Tickets cost $100 each. Second prize is a 2008 Camry from Younger Toyota; third prize is a 12-foot-4-inch by 9-foot-6-inch Khuzestan Rug; fourth prize is a Statton furniture set; fifth prize is $1,000 cash.
